Canning Project
This manufacturer produces approximately 910,000 Hl/Annum across a number of products. There is currently a PET line, bottling line and keg line in operation. The plant is however, reaching its’ maximum utility limit, which presents an opportunity for a further project.
This company is expanding its packaging formats to include a 20,000 can/per hour filling and packaging line, which is replacing the redundant Line 5.
Following a site visit, FDT generated tender documentation including technical schedules. The assignment also required meetings with the various suppliers to address all technical queries.
The Solution
The tender process was straight forward, with tenders from various companies quoting on the utilities. Electrical power constraints on the existing infrastructure and the addition of solar power presented an interesting challenge, particularly for effective integration of new board and old. The automation and functional design specification have been drafted by FDT.
The engineers from FDT have been involved in managing the project, doing the scope of work for the pipework and building services, heavily involved in the tender processed, EED and HAZOPs. FDT developed the scope of work for the electrical infrastructure, updating P&ID’s and drafting the functional design specification for the automation scope.
